The New Year’s Resolutions phenomenon

New Year’s Resolutions: the phenomenon that occurs when the end of a year is approaching and people suddenly get in the “change-mood”. Millions of resolutions will be made. This mood (and the resolutions) will disappear as fast as it came, after the first month of the new year.
As you can probably guess, I’m more the anti-New Year’s Resolution type. I don’t believe people will suddenly make the changes which they’ve put on a list at the end of a year. That’s also the reason why New Year’s Resolutions are actually not pursued after January and completely forgotten in March. Those resolutions are mostly standard things like:
– a more healthy lifestyle
– find a new great job
– save money
– stay in touch with family and friends
…etcetera.

The healthy in unhealthy

These days you’re getting an overload of information about healthy food, healthy living, healthy lifestyle etcetera. Which is obviously important if you want to live a long life with as less health issues as possible.
It’s actually a cliché, but so true: you gotta work for everything worth having. Being healthy is actually a luxury today, but the good part is that you can control it yourself for about 80%. You just have to figure out what suits your lifestyle, because that’s the only way you can maintain it for a long period.
