Our phones are smart for quite a while now. We wake up with that little allround device and go to bed with it. It notifies you about your friends, family, the world, cats and dogs running the internet and let’s not forget those interesting ‘SALE’ emails…
However, nothing beats live communication when we are in good company. The same applies to shopping. Online shopping is nice and easy, but we all like some good old ‘live’ shopping every now and then. Where some online shops have almost everything in their product line these days, live shops are often specialized in a few categories. Store in, store out, store in, store out…does that sound familiar?
Well, things are about to change. Remember the magazine-brought-to-life pop-up store INCONCEPT Live? This store that shops like a magazine, opened its doors in November 2014. It offers a platform where creative designers and entrepreneurs showcase their original concepts and products to a national ánd international audience. As you may have seen in my previous blogpost: this is not just any pop-up store, but a store with an innovative concept and a nice modern-meets-vintage touch. However, their concept is continuously developing. Introducing: smart shopping! When you’re done shopping for vintage clothes, buying not-so-common presents, trying out shoes with replaceable heels (innovation of the century!) and drinking that healthy slowjuice, there is something special waiting for you: the new smart fortwo.
Sounds like a car, right?
Oh wait it is:
You don’t need to go to a car showroom anymore, INCONCEPT brings the showroom to you. Mercedes Benz ROGAM is showcasing their new smart fortwo (#SMARTrogam) in the pop-up store. This is what I would like to call thinking-outside-the-traditional-store box. Or as Evana Kuik, designer of Men’s fashion label Menswear, calls it: “Shopping 2.0”.
