If you follow my facebook page closely you know that vintage humor pictures have a special place in my heart. The concept is very easy: take some typical vintage pictures and add a hilarious, yet straight-to-the-point caption which is related to the Here and Now or things that haven’t changed at all. Mix it together with a little photoshop and BAMMM instant entertainment guaranteed.
Vintage hilarity makes the (internet) world go round.
If you are unaware of this hype, don’t worry. This evening I am educating you in the vintage humor department. I bet you can relate to at least three of them. And if you have the same humor as me you will either be chuckling, laughing out loud or trying to keep a poker face while wanting to chuckle, because you are reading this in public.
Whenever I talk about my blog and its topic, some eyebrows rise and questions are asked:
– “Why vintage?”
– “Where did that vintage fascination come from?
– “Why not Bollywood” (since I’m literally oriental)
And last but not least…
– “But you are so young, why do you like those old things?”
Since I usually do things in reverse order I will start with the last question. Let’s go way back in time. As in 16 years ago. Which is also almost vintage! Anyway. Let’s talk about history. A topic that fascinated me ever since highschool. I loved the subject history, it was my favorite subject. When I was learning from my history book, I was reading it like a roman. Today, I am having a little time out of the back-to-the-good old days thought. Sometimes it’s good to stand still, take a deep breath, count your blessings gadgets and think about all the luxuries and knowledge of the Here and Now. So I did.
