‘A laugh a day’

Vintage humor education

August 24, 2014 | A laugh a day, Retro life | 1 comment

If you follow my facebook page closely you know that vintage humor pictures have a special place in my heart. The concept is very easy: take some typical vintage pictures and add a hilarious, yet straight-to-the-point caption which is related to the Here and Now or things that haven’t changed at all. Mix it together with a little photoshop and BAMMM instant entertainment guaranteed.
Vintage hilarity makes the (internet) world go round.
If you are unaware of this hype, don’t worry. This evening I am educating you in the vintage humor department. I bet you can relate to at least three of them. And if you have the same humor as me you will either be chuckling, laughing out loud or trying to keep a poker face while wanting to chuckle, because you are reading this in public.
Enjoy!

An ode to the HERE and NOW

June 11, 2014 | A laugh a day, Retro life | 0 comments

Today, I am having a little time out of the back-to-the-good old days thought. Sometimes it’s good to stand still, take a deep breath, count your blessings gadgets and think about all the luxuries and knowledge of the Here and Now. So I did. I compared the Here and Now to approximately ten years ago. And in my book that’s already a retro status. So here we go:
There weren’t a lot (online) vintage and retro fashion webshops as now. Can you imagine? What did all those vintage and retro lovers do? Were did they find those lovely feminine fashion items? This calls for an investigation.
Some years ago, I didn’t know that a little bit of red pepper and hot chocolate go very well together. Now I do. Which is very important if you want to take my blog title literally.
Nowadays I know exactly what I want (and I actually want …

A laugh every (Valentine’s) day, keeps the nagging away…

February 11, 2014 | A laugh a day | 0 comments

What is Valentine’s day without (lots of) humor?
If you agree with me, you’ve clicked on the right link. See, whether you like it or not, that obligated romantic (or general act-lovely-day) is coming. While everyone is scrathing their head about the standard valentine’s gifts, I’d like you to remind you to the gift of experience. The smile experience to be specific.
And hey, you can start small. So start with a funny-not-so-typical message. You don’t have to be orginal, just splash some humor into it. Because remember: a laugh a day, keeps the nagging away…
Also, it doesn’t hurt to think outside the box. The smile experience might reach its top when the messages below are broadcasted any other day besides February 14th.
So here is some lovely and funny inspiration for Valentine’s day and all the other 364 days:

An ode to odd compliments

December 7, 2013 | A laugh a day | 0 comments

I’m having a new addiction in the online entertainment section. The daily odd compliments addiction. Compliments wrapped in very originally found comparisons that make totally sense or are totally nonsense. However the impact of the compliments may actually be stronger, because of the weirdness, creativity and last but once again not least: hilarity.
Hilarity just makes the world go round. So forget those mainstream, normal compliments and go get them with the ones below. And cheers to staying odd.

Guidelines from Venus to Mars

August 11, 2012 | A laugh a day | 0 comments

I don’t know many men are reading this blog. If you are one of those men: you are the chosen one.  Pay attention and spread the word. If you are a woman and you know someone who can use some help in the how-to-treat-a-woman department. Let him read this.
It occurred to me that there are so few real men out there these days. Are they still alive? Are they hiding? Are they being imprisoned? What’s going on?
Apparently women are from Venus and men are from Mars, right? So here is Venus providing some guidelines to enlighten Mars.
