When you have a Vintage meets Present blog, the past meets present vibes pop up anywhere and anyplace. So here are some random vintage meets present thoughts on a random Monday night:
When you cannot find that amazing Classic Hollywood movie, because it’s so rare even Google can’t find it.
When you’re totally digging the vintage fashion style. But you realise it’s not a good idea to turn up at work like this:

If I lived in the roaring twenties

When I say 1920s, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Party like it’s 1920-1929? Flapper girls, economic prosperity, jazz or the Harlem Renaissance? Or maybe all of them? For me it’s a combination of a lot of things. I remember watching the movie the Great Gatsby. Of course, my fascination for vintage made my vision a little but colored, but I loved that movie. Especially the way the roaring twenties atmosphere was recreated. After the 1950s and 1960s, the roaring twenties have a special place in my vintage heart. That’s why it was time to think about randon thoughts that would cross my mind if I had lived in that time period. Please note, just like the previous episode If I lived in the early 1900s, most of the time I am on the don’t-take-it-too-serious road. What would life be back then?

If I lived in the early 1900s…

How would life be if I would have lived 100 years, 80 years  or 60 years ago? Do you ever wonder about that? Well, I do. Nowadays, while living your daily life random thoughts appear. From “Where’s the wifi” to “Why does this train has a 5-minute delay”. Or from “It’s Netflix time, do not disturb me” to “Where did the weekend go?” A few days ago I started thinking about those random thoughts and the past. If I were in a similar position in life as I am at the moment, how would my life look like in a certain time period? What would I do in my spare time in the early 1900s. Would I be a flapper in the 1920s? How many gloves would I have in the 1950s? Would I master that Twist in the 1960s? Questions, questions. Of course I will never know the …

Ambitious with balls: I love Lucy

via Wikicommons
Yesterday, I had a little rendez-vous with the 1950s again. I watched an episode of the I love Lucy show and it was hilarious. The I love Lucy show is a sitcom of the 50s starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. The comedy serie is about Lucy Ricardo and her husband Ricky Ricardo. In every episode you can get a 25 minute peek in their marriage and (fictional) life. Thanks to our social media platform nowadays, that’s 25 minutes per episode – without ads. Thank you Youtube. Once again you make it possible to watch one (or two) season(s) in one night.
