A personal piece of Oriental Spice and some Chocolate

Time to get personal today! In the blog word there are a lot of blogtags where bloggers nominate each other to answer a few questions. A few weeks ago ,I was nominated with the Liebster award by Melike from Melikebeauty. It’s basically a digital award which is given by bloggers to other blog colleagues who’ve just started a blog. Now I am not really a starter in the blog world and I probably should’ve done this a few years ago, but to quote Clark Gable in Gone with the Wind: Quite frankly, I don’t give a damn ;-). More importantly, it’s a nice way to get to know the person behind the blog with that vintage fascination and the questions of this Liebster Award tag were in fact interesting questions that literally stimulated me to think about my future (as blogger).
Let’s hit it off!

When friendship met technology

February 23, 2016 | Personal vintage memories | 1 comment

A few nights ago I was thinking about friendship in the present and back in the day. With back in the day, I mean for example the 1950s, but also the time I grew up (90’s/early 00’s). It’s interesting to see how things have changed so rapidly in the last couple of years, mainly because of technical innovations. I partly grew up in the oldskool 90s era and also the beginning of the current technology era. Once again you could say: I’ve seen the best of both worlds. These days you see a lot of (funny) viral movies and memes about the influence of the digital era on our social life. So have these digital innovations of the last years effected or influenced (my) friendships?

If I lived in the roaring twenties

August 11, 2015 | Retro life | 0 comments

When I say 1920s, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Party like it’s 1920-1929? Flapper girls, economic prosperity, jazz or the Harlem Renaissance? Or maybe all of them? For me it’s a combination of a lot of things. I remember watching the movie the Great Gatsby. Of course, my fascination for vintage made my vision a little but colored, but I loved that movie. Especially the way the roaring twenties atmosphere was recreated. After the 1950s and 1960s, the roaring twenties have a special place in my vintage heart. That’s why it was time to think about randon thoughts that would cross my mind if I had lived in that time period. Please note, just like the previous episode If I lived in the early 1900s, most of the time I am on the don’t-take-it-too-serious road. What would life be back then?

My personal ode to flower power

Remember my post about trademarks? Everyone has their own trademarks, even when you’re not aware of them. Your trademarks are not only limited to appearance. How you behave, how you think…personality is key. However, today I am talking about personal trademarks in appearance. One of my own appearance trademarks to me more specific. Oriental Spice Red Lips and some Chocolate Hairflowers pretty much sums it up. I will not talk about the red lip(stick) today, maybe another time. I do want to talk to you about flowers. I wear them a lot and in every season.
