Vintage books: Menthol

January 15, 2017 | Vintage, Vintage lifestyle | 0 comments

A few months ago, I was at the bookshop when my eyes fell on a book with a vintage cover: Menthol. And vintage covers always capture my attention. The summary of the story immediately made me want to read this book, so I bought it. A few weeks ago, I finally had made the time to read again.
I love looking back to the past for various reasons. Inspiration is an important one. How did people live in certain eras? Literally how, because there are a lot of dark pages in every era. 10 witty conversation starters for a good 1950s housewife

And again…rightly so, because – in my opinion – those were the peak days of feminine fashion. Also, focussing on the positive things of the old days is always a good idea.
On this blog you see a lot of my fascination for the 50s and 60s, but also frequent sidesteps to the other eras. Remember the vintage fashion serie?

I’ve got a lot of love for the classics. Classic songs, classic hollywood movies, classic fashion. You name it. This time my fascination focusses on classic eyewear. Trendy eyeglasses and thinner than thin contact lenses rule the world and they do it very nicely. Eyewear is more fashionable than ever and you have so many models to choose from. That was not always the case ofcourse. Today I am taking you on a little historical tour in the world of eyeglasses.
